Our community recently had the honour of hosting members from the Canadian Urban Institute (CUI) to discuss the future of the My Main Street Program. FedDev Ontario's investment of $23.25 million in 2021 to establish the My Main Street initiative has been a resounding success. The recent renewal with a non-repayable contribution of up to $15 million reaffirms our commitment to the recovery and revitalization of main streets and local businesses in southern Ontario. CUI will now deliver both the Business Sustainability Program and the Community Activator Program, further supporting our local businesses and communities.

This visit was not just about an announcement; it was an opportunity for a community round table, where valuable insights into the challenges and opportunities faced by small businesses in York Region were shared. We are committed to ensuring that our support is not just rhetoric but a tangible investment in the prosperity of our communities.
